We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Geologist to join a leading ground investigation contractor and consultancy in London. This is an excellent opportunity to take a senior role within a well-established ground engineering team, delivering complex and high-profile projects across the capital and wider UK.

The Role

You will play a key role in managing and delivering ground investigation projects, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the technical and commercial success of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing ground investigation projects from tender through to completion
  • Designing and specifying site investigations
  • Supervising site works and ensuring quality delivery
  • Logging and reviewing soil and rock data in line with BS5930
  • Producing and reviewing factual and interpretative reports
  • Undertaking geotechnical design input and assessments
  • Client liaison and attending project meetings
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and geologists
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Requirements

  • Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years' relevant industry experience
  • Strong background in ground investigation and reporting
  • Proven experience managing projects and clients
  • Excellent technical, communication, and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (e.g. CGeol, CSci, or ICE)
  • Experience on major infrastructure or urban development projects
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles
  • Commercial awareness and business development experience
