We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Geologist to join a leading ground investigation contractor and consultancy in London. This is an excellent opportunity to take a senior role within a well-established ground engineering team, delivering complex and high-profile projects across the capital and wider UK.
The Role
You will play a key role in managing and delivering ground investigation projects, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the technical and commercial success of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing ground investigation projects from tender through to completion
- Designing and specifying site investigations
- Supervising site works and ensuring quality delivery
- Logging and reviewing soil and rock data in line with BS5930
- Producing and reviewing factual and interpretative reports
- Undertaking geotechnical design input and assessments
- Client liaison and attending project meetings
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and geologists
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
- 5+ years' relevant industry experience
- Strong background in ground investigation and reporting
- Proven experience managing projects and clients
- Excellent technical, communication, and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (e.g. CGeol, CSci, or ICE)
- Experience on major infrastructure or urban development projects
- Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles
- Commercial awareness and business development experience
