Your Role and Responsibilities
As an HVAC Service Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and ensuring the smooth operation of HVAC systems for an array of clients. You will be entrusted with tasks that demand a combination of technical knowledge, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Servicing and maintaining small, medium, and large chiller systems independently.
- Compiling detailed dilapidation reports after site visits.
- Conducting maintenance and repairs on various compressor types, including scroll, reciprocating, and screw compressors.
- Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) visits to ensure reliability and efficiency of HVAC systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving advanced technical faults with precision and efficiency.
- Preparing accurate, thorough reports on completed jobs for both clients and internal records.
- Adhering strictly to industry standards, company policies, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Staying current with technological advancements and contributing to process improvements.
What We're Looking For
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
Essential Qualifications & Expertise:
- A qualification in air conditioning and refrigeration (equivalent to a Diploma or higher).
- Category 1 F Gas certification (or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with centrifugal and Turbocor compressors.
- Comprehensive understanding of Health & Safety guidelines in an engineering environment.
- A valid full UK driving licence (essential for client site visits).
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Proficiency in diagnosing complex equipment faults.
- Experience working with manufacturers' service software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a meticulous work ethic.
- Ability to interpret data and apply it to optimise performance.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with air conditioning, air handling units (AHUs), or refrigeration systems would be advantageous.
