Our client is a leading provider of occupational health, occupational hygiene, and compliance services, helping organisations create safer, healthier workplaces across the UK.

As they continue to grow, we’re looking for a driven and commercially minded Business Development Executive to join their Leeds-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and making a tangible impact within a growing business operating in the occupational health and hygiene sector.

The Role

As a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role in driving new business across our portfolio of occupational health and occupational hygiene services.

You’ll identify prospective clients, develop strong relationships with decision-makers, and work closely with our technical teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.

You’ll be responsible for generating new opportunities while nurturing long-term partnerships across industries including manufacturing, construction, engineering, logistics, utilities, and the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
  • Generate leads through proactive outbound activity, networking, referrals, and market research.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers including Health & Safety Managers, Operations Directors, and Procurement teams.
  • Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to proposal and contract award.
  • Collaborate with internal occupational health and occupational hygiene specialists to develop bespoke client solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and presentations.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline using CRM software.
  • Meet and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, legislation, and market developments affecting workplace health and compliance.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, self-motivated, and passionate about developing business in a consultative environment.

You’ll ideally have

  • Experience in business development, sales, or account management within a B2B environment.
  • Experience selling occupational health, occupational hygiene, health & safety, compliance, environmental, or technical services is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs.
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • A proactive, resilient, and results‑focused approach.
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable).
