Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an exciting multidisciplinary in their search for a Town Planner to join their expanding team, based between their Sidcup office and Blackfriars in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful Town Planner will benefit from exposure to a wide range of projects while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will support the delivery of planning projects across both office locations, working closely with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes. You will be involved in all aspects of the planning process, from initial appraisals through to submission and determination, while developing your experience across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and supporting a range of planning applications and appeals
  • Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility assessments
  • Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation
  • Providing planning advice to clients across a range of developments
  • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
  • Supporting senior team members in project delivery
  • Attending site visits, meetings, and client consultations

Candidate Requirements

  • RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
  • Good understanding of UK planning policy and legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach
  • Ability to work flexibly between the Sidcup and London offices
