Drainage Engineer Hull
Salary: Β£35,000 - Β£45,000
A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a Drainage Engineer to join its growing civil engineering team in Hull. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments across the UK, delivering drainage design from concept through to construction.
The successful candidate will play a key role in producing detailed drainage designs, preparing technical reports and supporting planning applications while working closely with experienced engineers and other design disciplines.
The Role
- Design foul and surface water drainage systems for a range of development projects.
- Prepare drainage strategies, Flood Risk Assessments and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) designs.
- Produce calculations and technical drawings using industry-standard software.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities, water companies and internal design teams.
- Support planning applications and detailed design through to construction.
- Assist with the delivery of Section 104, Section 38 and Section 278 agreements where required.
- Attend project meetings and occasional site visits.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in drainage design within a UK consultancy environment.
- Working knowledge of MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Understanding of UK drainage standards, SuDS guidance and current design legislation.
- Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
