My client, a specialist UK based Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a Graduate Consultant to join a supportive team based in central Cardiff for a fixed term contract. It is essential that applicants have a strong academic background including a MSc and/or BSc in Hydrology, Geography, Environmental Modelling or Hydraulic Modelling and ideally have a driving licence. You will be expected to have a keen interest in hydrology, hydrometry, GIS, hydraulic modelling and water quality. Candidates are required to have a strong background in numeracy (preferably a strong A level or GCSE in Mathematics or Science) and an interest in data sampling and analysis.

As a Graduate Consultant you will join a specialist flood risk team in Cardiff for a fixed term contract of 6 to 9 months:

  • Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications
  • Strategic Flood Risk Assessment for developers
  • Flood Estimation using ReFH and Winfap
  • Rainfall Analysis
  • Hydrology, Hydrogeological and Environmental Chapters for EIAs
  • Water Quality Assessments
  • GIS Mapping
  • Drainage Strategies and SAB Applications
  • Site visits for water monitoring, hydrometry and peat surveys
