My client, an experienced, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Graduate Civil Engineer with a focus on Flood Risk and Drainage to join their growing team of engineering and design experts, in the City of Hull, on the North-East coast of England.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of flood risk and drainage strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
  • Working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (such as S104, S106, etc.)
  • Knowledge of InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and other relevant software packages
  • The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • A willingness to learn and develop technical skills through hands-on experience

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Graduate Civil Engineer to have the following:

  • Some commercial experience, particularly with flood risk and drainage
  • Working knowledge of a range of additional software packages, including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, etc.
  • Good time management skills

As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will be joining a specialist team of engineers, working on a number of different projects across the region. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:

  • Contributing to several different projects, developing flood risk and drainage strategies
  • Working with the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standard, adhering to time and budgetary restrictions
  • Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using a range of software packages
  • Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including calculations, drawings, and models
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Contributing to and carrying out site meetings and inspections
  • Developing and maintaining client and stakeholder relations
  • Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
