This is an excellent opportunity to join my client, a highly-respected, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy looking to broaden their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in Scotland. Renowned for lending their expertise to all manner of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are seeking an enthusiastic, talented Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design who is willing to win and deliver a number of challenging projects. You will help build and lead a newly-established team of design professionals, based near the scenic, family-friendly city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities include:
- Delivering a number of exciting engineering developments in a design capacity
- Managing the day-to-day running of engineering projects, including aspects such as budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, delivery, and implementation
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues throughout their careers, encouraging their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Managing relationships with clients and other stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
- Preparing, checking, amending, and submitting technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
- Enforcing company policies, procedures, and best practice
- Upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
- Contributing to the company’s business development strategies, acting as a dependable representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience include:
- A Degree in Civil Engineering
- Possess Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised Professional Body
- Extensive experience of working in a design capacity, within a UK-based consultancy setting
- Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (particularly highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy projects
- Experience of drainage network modelling and earthworks design
- Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, and similar)
- Considerable experience of writing and amending a variety of reports for submission
- Prior experience of leading both projects and people within the sector
- Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
- Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience include:
- A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Prior experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
- Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
- Experience of working in a public-facing role
