A specialist ground investigation contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Engineer / Engineering Geologist to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site investigation projects from inception through to completion, while also mentoring and supporting junior team members.
Requirements for the role of Senior Site Engineer / Engineering Geologist
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant industry experience
- Strong knowledge of site investigation techniques and procedures
- Good understanding of British Standards, Eurocode 7, ICE and NEC contracts
- Experience with borehole logging software and report preparation
- Ability to manage projects, programmes and subcontractors effectively
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Preferred certifications include CSCS (Manager level), SMSTS, CDM Regulations and PTS
Duties and responsibilities
- Management of site investigation projects
- Preparation and approval of project-specific RAMS and Programmes of Work
- Financial monitoring and project cost control
- Supervision and coordination of fieldwork activities
- Management of plant, equipment and project supplies
- Soil and rock logging to current industry standards
- Planning, supervision and programming of projects
- Management of subcontractors and specialist service providers
- Monitoring project progress against programme
- Preparation and submission of Applications for Payment
- Compilation of project reports and deliverable data
- Liaising with clients and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery
- Ensuring all works comply with business management systems
- Mentoring and training junior staff members
