We are working with a well-established specialist contractor within the ground engineering and remediation sector who are looking to bring in an experienced Commercial Manager to support their continued growth. This is a key hire for the business and would suit someone with a strong Quantity Surveying background who is comfortable managing contracts and taking ownership of the commercial side of projects from start to finish.

The role:

  • Overseeing the commercial performance across a range of projects, working closely with operational teams and senior management.
  • Managing project costs, forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Overseeing contracts (NEC / JCT) and dealing with variations and claims.
  • Leading on final accounts and commercial negotiations.
  • Supporting tenders and pricing.
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

  • A background in Quantity Surveying (degree or equivalent).
  • Solid experience in a commercial role within construction, civils or groundworks.
  • Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on.
  • Experience in ground engineering, remediation, piling or civil engineering would be a big advantage, but not essential.
