An established and growing planning consultancy is looking to appoint a Chartered Senior Town Planner to support its expanding project workload across the South East and beyond. This is a remote-first role, with only occasional attendance required at the Colchester office, making it well suited to an experienced planner seeking flexibility without compromising on the quality or variety of work.

The Role

Working at Senior level, you will take responsibility for managing your own projects while supporting junior members of the team. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of developments and the opportunity to play a key part in shaping planning strategies and client outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering complex planning applications and appeals
  • Providing clear, commercial planning advice to clients
  • Preparing high-quality reports and representations
  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultants
  • Mentoring and supporting junior planners where required

About You

  • MRTPI qualified (essential)
  • Proven experience working at Senior Planner level within consultancy or local authority
  • Strong development management experience (policy exposure beneficial)
  • Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
  • Comfortable working remotely with the ability to attend the Colchester office on an occasional basis
