This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director to play a key role within an established and highly regarded consultancy, working on a wide range of prestigious projects for major developers and housebuilders. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and success of the Colchester office within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
THE ROLE
As an Associate Director, you will take a leading role in delivering significant planning projects across both the private and public sectors. You will be responsible for leading on strategic planning, development management, and project coordination, while supporting the growth of the team and maintaining strong client relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity to establish yourself as a key figure within the business as an Associate Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading and managing complex planning projects
- Providing strategic planning and development management advice
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
- Coordinating project delivery across multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting business growth and contributing to team development
- Preparing and reviewing high-quality planning reports and documentation
- Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- MRTPI qualified
- Minimum of 6+ years' experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
- Strong understanding of both strategic planning and development management
- Excellent knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy
- Strong analytical, written, and communication skills
- Proven experience managing projects and client relationships
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
- Ideally experience working within the local area
