A great opportunity has become available for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established consultancy based near Warrington. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors, supporting both site and office-based activities. You will be involved in planning and supervising ground investigations, logging soil and rock in accordance with current standards, and assisting with the preparation of geotechnical reports and foundation recommendations.
The position will involve a mix of site work and technical delivery, including overseeing drilling and trial pitting, carrying out in-situ testing, and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained on site. You will also contribute to the analysis and interpretation of ground investigation data, assist in the design of foundations, slopes and earthworks, and liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements:
- Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or similar
- Experience within ground investigation or geotechnical engineering
- Knowledge of soil and rock logging to current standards (e.g. BS5930)
- Strong report writing and data interpretation skills
- Full UK driving licence
