As a Laboratory Assistant, you’ll not only develop your technical expertise but also play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the calibration and service operations. Among a broad range of responsibilities, you’ll:

  • Get hands-on experience calibrating noise, vibration, and air-quality monitoring equipment.
  • Learn to generate accurate calibration certificates and documentation.
  • Work closely with the Technical Support Team to resolve real-world customer cases.
  • Assist in equipment inspection, repair, and servicing in the Service Centre.
  • Build communication and teamwork skills by collaborating with customers, manufacturers, and partner labs.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals with the following:

Essential:
  • A solid foundation in technical or scientific subjects with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English, and one technical/science subject (such as Maths, Physics, Engineering, ICT, Electronics).
  • Strong technical aptitude showcased through previous experience with electronic, mechanical, or measurement equipment (could be personal projects or schoolwork).
  • Clear ability to follow procedures and technical instructions accurately.
  • Basic IT proficiency: Using PCs and software systems, precise data entry and document generation.
  • A sharp eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.
Desirable (but not required):
  • Vocational qualifications like BTECs/NVQs in Engineering, Applied Science, or Technical Services.
  • A background in apprenticeships (e.g., Electronics, Instrumentation, or Lab Services).
  • A-levels or T-levels in Physics, Engineering, or other technical fields.
