Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading global property consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity for a Town Planner to join a highly regarded and well-established team, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will benefit from exposure to high-profile projects and a strong client base within a collaborative and professional environment.
THE ROLE
As a Town Planner, you will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission and determination. You will manage your own projects while supporting senior team members on complex schemes, developing your expertise and client-facing skills as a Town Planner within a dynamic consultancy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing planning applications and appeals
- Preparing high-quality planning reports and supporting documentation
- Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility assessments
- Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
- Attending client meetings, site visits, and consultations
- Supporting senior team members on larger, complex projects
- Contributing to business development and client relationships
- Supporting project coordination and delivery
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
- MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
