A growing specialist consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join their team in Basingstoke. This is a good opportunity for an experienced flood risk professional looking to take on greater responsibility across technical delivery, client management and project leadership.
The Role:
- Lead and manage flood risk and drainage projects from inception through to completion.
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
- Undertake and review hydraulic modelling and flood risk assessments.
- Provide technical advice to clients, developers, planners and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other regulatory bodies.
- Manage project budgets, programmes and client requirements.
- Review technical work and provide guidance to junior members of the team.
- Support business development, fee proposals and client relationships.
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of the flood risk team.
The Candidate:
- Strong experience within flood risk consultancy.
- Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
- Good understanding of planning requirements and flood risk policy.
- Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM would be advantageous.
- Confident dealing with clients and regulatory authorities.
- Previous experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
- Relevant degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
