Air Conditioning Installation Engineer
Kent and London areas, with occasional UK wide travel
Salary & Benefits

Job purpose
To plan, install, test, commission and hand over air conditioning systems in both commercial and domestic properties, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The role requires flexibility to cover Kent, London, and occasionally further afield in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site surveys: assess requirements, measure, advise on optimal system layouts & identify any installation challenges.
- Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, manufacturer installation instructions, and specifications.
- Install a variety of air conditioning systems including but not limited to split, multi split, VRV/VRF, ducted units, heat pumps, AHUs/FCUs where required.
- Carry out all installation tasks: mechanical work (pipework, brazing, supports and brackets), electrical connections, refrigerant handling, control wiring, condensate drainage etc.
- Pressure test, vacuum, leak test, charge with refrigerant, and commission systems to meet manufacturer and regulatory specifications.
- Ensure all installations are compliant with safety, electrical, building, environmental and refrigerant (e.g. F Gas) regulations.
- Liaise with clients, site contacts, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution, timely communication of progress, and professional customer service.
- Manage tools, materials, and equipment required for each job; ensure care and maintenance.
- Carry out handover and provide correct documentation (certificates, user instructions, warranties).
- Respond to overtime demands and travel / overnight stays when projects demand.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience installing air conditioning systems (domestic & commercial).
- Relevant technical qualification(s) in HVAC / Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- F Gas certification (Category 1 or higher) or equivalent refrigerant handling qualifications.
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring / controls associated with air conditioning units.
- Solid skills in fabrication / pipework, brazing and related mechanical installation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Full UK driving licence, clean and valid.
- Good communication skills – able to deal with clients, site staff, internal teams.
- Strong problem solving skills; resourceful and able to work with limited
