Engineering Geologist

Sheffield | Β£35,000 - Β£45,000

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist to join their growing ground engineering team in Sheffield, working on a range of renewable energy and infrastructure projects across the UK.

The role will involve a combination of site and office-based work, supporting projects across wind, solar, battery energy storage and associated infrastructure.

The Role

  • Planning and supervising ground investigations
  • Engineering geological and geotechnical logging
  • Site supervision and contractor management
  • Factual and interpretative reporting
  • Ground model development and interpretation
  • Geotechnical assessment of renewable energy developments
  • Supporting foundation and earthworks assessments
  • Reviewing ground investigation data and laboratory results
  • Working closely with geotechnical, civil, environmental and energy specialists
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
  • 2+ years' relevant experience within ground investigation, engineering geology or geotechnical consultancy
  • Experience with site investigation and geological logging
  • Good understanding of UK ground conditions
  • Strong report writing and technical skills
  • Full UK driving licence
