An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a highly respected and growing planning consultancy based in Devon. Acting on behalf of our client, we are seeking a commercially minded and motivated planner who is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, rural and mixed-use developments throughout the South West and beyond.

The Opportunity
You will join an established and collaborative planning team, taking a lead role in managing projects, preparing and submitting planning applications, and providing strategic planning advice to a varied client base. The role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to high-quality work, and a clear pathway for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a range of planning projects from inception through to determination
  • Preparing planning appraisals, statements and appeals
  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and clients
  • Providing strategic planning advice across a variety of sectors
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
  • Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultations

Candidate Requirements

  • MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership with significant experience)
  • Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to manage workloads independently and build strong xgikmsk client relationships
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
