Penguin Recruitment are working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy who are looking to appoint a Principal Air Quality Consultant to help drive the next stage of growth for their Air Quality division.

Why consider the role?

  • Career progression: A genuine opportunity to progress towards Associate level, with the responsibility and influence to help shape and grow the Air Quality service.
  • Real backing: You'll work closely with the Regional Director and senior leadership, with support from teams across the wider business. You'll have the platform to develop clients, win new work and help build the division.
  • Flexible location: This role is completely flexible on location. With a wide UK office network and established flexible working arrangements, the focus is on finding the right person rather than where you are based.
  • Major project exposure: You'll be joining an established consultancy with significant UK and international reach, working across major infrastructure, transport, residential, commercial, healthcare, energy, rail, highways, data centre and regeneration projects.

Benefits: 26 days' annual leave, additional loyalty days, holiday buy/sell, 3x salary life assurance, paid professional membership, training and mentoring, wellbeing support, Employee Assistance Programme, season-ticket loans, Cycle to Work and a flexible benefits portal.

The opportunity: This is more than a typical Principal Consultant position. The business is investing in the continued growth of its Air Quality offering, and you'll be joining at an important stage in that development. You'll have the opportunity to combine technical delivery with client development, business development, mentoring and service-line growth. You'll work alongside other environmental, sustainability, transport and engineering disciplines, giving you access to a much broader project and client base. As the division develops, there is genuine scope to take on greater commercial and leadership responsibility and progress towards Associate level.

What we're looking for: We're keen to speak with experienced Air Quality professionals currently operating at Principal level, as well as strong Senior Consultants ready to take the next step. You'll ideally have:

  • Strong Air Quality consultancy experience
  • Experience delivering air quality assessments
  • Good knowledge of UK planning and air quality requirements
  • Strong client-facing skills
  • An interest in business development and growing a service
  • The ambition to develop into senior/Associate-level leadership

You don't need to have already built a large team or run a division. The opportunity is to help build it. If you're looking for a role where you can have more influence, more ownership and a genuine opportunity to shape the future of an Air Quality service, I'd be interested in speaking with you.
