Principal Planner

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Planner to join a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. This is a fantastic role for an ambitious planning professional looking to take the next step within a collaborative and commercially focused environment.
Working as part of an established planning team, you will lead on a diverse portfolio of projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, strategic land and regeneration schemes throughout Wales and the wider UK.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client relationships, delivering planning strategies and supporting the continued growth of the Cardiff office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a wide range of planning applications and appeals
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients and stakeholders
- Preparing planning appraisals, representations and policy submissions
- Leading client meetings and project teams
- Mentoring junior planners and contributing to team development
- Supporting business development activities and networking initiatives
Requirements:
- MRTPI qualified
- Proven experience within either consultancy or local authority planning
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Ability to manage projects independently and work collaboratively within a team
- Commercial awareness and strong client-facing skills
