We are seeking a highly organised and delivery-focused accountant to lead our Royalties / Finance Integration Project team, which is a key strategic, Global Board sponsored project. The role will be responsible for managing the UK Pilot project, ensuring the project is delivered in time and within scope and leading the team of professionals. Key Responsibilities- Project Management & Strategic Execution: Serve as the primary point of contact for project. Work with external consultants on project plans, clearly outlining timelines, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring resources are allocated appropriately. Lead the planning and implementation of the project through to Go Live, ensuring it meets business requirements and is delivered on time. Lead the project team, assign tasks, and foster effective collaboration. Build relationships and maintain ongoing communication with global team, IT, SAP team and royalty department, to ensure alignment. Coordinate activities across multiple functions to advance project tasks and resolve operational roadblocks. Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, royalties, SAP, and IT teams to gather requirements, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Problem Solving: Understand and address issues in accounting for royalties in SAP and in Royalties system, including recoupable costs, recoupment, accruals, suspense and error. Understand the month close process for Recorded Music, Publishing and Neighbouring Rights and co-ordinate the re-design, in order to achieve the project goals. Address problems promptly, finding and implementing effective solutions. Identify areas within the project scope for increased automation and use of A.I. to drive efficiency. Assist in the migration and reconciliation of royalty data in SAP and between systems, ensuring proper data formatting and alignment with royalty systems and in line with project strategy.
- Testing: Manage E2E testing of key systems and processes including managing and understanding results and impact on overall project strategy.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Work with External Consultants to develop and deliver comprehensive training to staff on new systems and protocols for project Go Live. Work with External Consultants and wider Project Team to deliver quality process documentation. Work with External Project Consultants to identify potential risks and blockers, and implement strategies to mitigate them.
- Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, including team members, and senior management, to keep everyone informed of project progress. Regularly report on project progress to internal stakeholders. Work with External Consultants to prepare and present reports on project progress, resource utilisation, and final outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the project meets quality standards and stakeholder requirements.
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Leader or similar role in project management.
- Qualified Accountant working within a Music Finance and Royalties at a senior level.
- Understanding of Recording and Publishing contracts.
- Understanding of music royalty systems and issues.
- Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Proficiency in project management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying risks and devising actionable solutions.
- Competence in coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve common goals efficiently.
- SAP experience is advantageous but not essential.
