Global Finance Transformation Specialist – 12m FTC

Join our Finance Project team to assist with the delivery of a key strategic, Global Board sponsored project. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency and completeness of royalty-related data across multiple platforms with particular attention to SAP. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant, passionate about quality financial information in the music industry, who is ready to contribute to the evolution of our royalties and finance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Cleaning and Migration Strategy: Develop strategy and approach to data cleaning of historic royalty balances held in SAP in order that they reconcile with the royalty ledger.
  • Data Validation and Cleansing: Review, reconcile and validate royalty balances held in SAP, ensuring all information is accurate, consistent, and free of errors. This includes checking recoupable costs, royalty earnings, artist details, and contract information.
  • Data Correction: Identify and resolve discrepancies in royalty data between systems. Collaborate with internal teams specifically Royalties Team to address issues as needed.
  • Data Migration and Integration: Assist in the migration of royalty data in SAP and between systems, ensuring proper data formatting and alignment with royalty systems and in line with project strategy.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports for the Project Manager to update on progress of data cleansing and migration. Maintain detailed records of data-cleansing activities for auditing and reference purposes.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the royalty, Finance, SAP and Technology teams to ensure data is properly integrated and royalty balances are accurate and also with external Project Management Consultants.
  • Process Improvement and Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline data cleansing processes through automation and AI, enhance data accuracy, and reduce errors in royalty balances.
  • Additional: Take part in E2E testing of key systems post migration to ensure accuracy and assist in any reconciliation activity.

Your Profile

  • A qualified accountant.
  • Previous experience in a music label.
  • Proven experience in music accounting ideally Recorded Music, A&R accounting and royalty finance processes.
  • Proven experience in data management or data cleansing, preferably in the music industry or other royalty-based industries.
  • Familiarity with music royalty systems is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of music publishing and / or recording contracts.
  • Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation) is required.
  • Proficiency in SAP preferable but not a pre-requisite
  • Strong reconciliation skills required
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot discrepancies, ensure data consistency, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
