Role Overview
We are recruiting a Senior Delivery Manager to join our Technology team on a permanent basis in London. Reporting into the Director of Cloud, Infrastructure, Security Operations and Service Delivery, you will work within the Technology Operations space to lead core foundational technology projects that modernise and transform our infrastructure and security operations.
You’ll work closely with teams across Technology, from Infrastructure Operations to Compute, Network, Cyber Security, and Cloud — as well as our broader end‑user community, ensuring that complex technical change lands smoothly, thoughtfully, and with minimal disruption.
In this role, you’ll guide a broad range of initiatives, collaborating with multiple internal teams, partners and vendors. Strong vendor management skills will be essential as you balance priorities, negotiate delivery timelines, and keep stakeholders aligned at all levels.
You’ll bring proven experience of delivering projects in both Agile and Waterfall environments, and the confidence to lead deeply technical workstreams and support BAU and strategic programmes through clear governance and smart risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of Technology Operations projects in a matrix‑managed environment, ensuring smooth coordination across teams.
- Own the end‑to‑end delivery of the Technology Operations Transformation Portfolio including prioritisation, risk management, and progress tracking across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Deliver projects and initiatives with a focus on infrastructure (Cloud & On‑Prem), network (LAN and WAN), security operations and end‑user compute.
- Work with Technology Operations teams to drive project timelines and adhere to required governance processes.
- Own the Technology Operations Project Delivery Roadmap, delivering projects to agreed cost, quality and time estimates.
- Contribute to the yearly budget cycle to support future project delivery offerings.
- Collaborate with the solution architecture team to ensure appropriate architecture and governance.
- Co‑operate with Technology Centres of Excellence (data, integration, SAP/finance, supply chain) to ensure integrated communication and delivery across the Technology landscape.
- Support early project lifecycle activities such as budgeting, estimation and vendor selection.
- Collaborate with the Change Management and Service Introduction teams to support efficient introduction of systems and developments.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables across key stakeholders and Technology teams; manage issues, risks, actions and budgets.
- Develop full‑scale project plans, including tasks and resource requirements in both Agile and Waterfall modes, depending on project requirements.
- Manage the development of appropriate documentation required by projects.
- Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
- Coordinate and manage external stakeholders (including vendors) to ensure project delivery.
- Identify technical and process improvement opportunities and advocate for their implementation.
- Build and maintain exceptional relationships with all Technology Operations and wider Technology teams.
What You’ll Bring
- Display leadership skills with a good understanding of the technical work required and overall roadmaps.
- Extensive experience as a Senior Manager with demonstrated team‑management abilities.
- Extensive experience in deeply technical Infrastructure & Security Operations projects.
- Extensive experience in a senior operational or project‑management role.
- Able to make well‑judged decisions or escalations with clear recommendations.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is beneficial.
- In‑depth knowledge of portfolio management of multi‑million‑pound infrastructure portfolios.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Senior Team Leader with strong senior leadership attributes.
- Strong understanding of risk‑management principles.
- Experience building processes and implementing new ways of working.
