Overview
Regional Account Manager – South and South West (FTC until November 2026). You will work closely with bookshops and other retailers across the South and South West including Devon, Cornwall, South Wales and Somerset, using your communication and negotiation skills to build relationships and drive sales of our titles.
You’ll regularly visit independent bookshops and other accounts to maximise sales and leverage retailer recommendations to drive word-of-mouth success. The role is a mix of on-the-road visits (3.5-4 days per week) and remote work, with approx. 4 nights per month away. A company car is provided and a full clean driving licence is essential.
Responsibilities
- Maximise sales of PRH titles across the list and harness hand selling with indie bookshops
- Understand each account in detail and share expertise with the team
- Proactively liaise between accounts and PRH to maximise sales opportunities
- Provide the highest level of customer service to accounts, anticipating their needs and aligning them with PRH products
- Continuously learn about new subjects and evolve in the role
- Use discounts, spend, social media assets, etc., to drive revenue
- Set personal goals, measure success, and view learning from failures as part of growth
- Monitor and discuss year-on-year invoiced sales with accounts and celebrate success
What you’ll bring
- Experience in a similar sales or business development role
- Comfortable brokering relationships with booksellers and adapting style to retailer needs
- Ability to work autonomously as a self-starter
Prior publishing experience is desirable but not essential. We’ll teach you what you need to know. You’ll be selling across Fiction and Non-Fiction.
