At Penfold, we’re on a mission to make pensions radically better — and partnerships are a huge part of how we grow. As an SDR at Penfold, you’ll play a critical role in expanding our intermediary partner network, with a particular focus on accountants and Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) who support UK start-ups and scale-ups.
This is a high-activity, outbound role where confidence on the phone, sharp communication, and the ability to build trust with senior professionals really matter. You won’t be selling directly to end customers — instead, you’ll be opening doors, building relationships, and creating high-quality opportunities for our Sales team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Owning outbound activity to accountants and IFAs (50+ calls per day, plus email and LinkedIn)
- Researching and engaging partner firms and key decision-makers
- Clearly articulating Penfold’s value to professional advisers and their clients
- Qualifying interest and booking high-quality meetings for Sales, with strong handovers
- Converting inbound partner interest into meaningful conversations
- Building and maintaining a healthy pipeline of partner-led opportunities
- Collaborating closely with Sales, Partnerships, and Marketing to refine messaging
- Keeping activity and pipeline up to date in HubSpot
- Consistently hitting (and exceeding!) activity and meeting targets — with uncapped commission
Right now, our focus is UK-based accountants and IFAs. As we grow, you’ll have opportunities to expand into new partner segments and markets.
What we’re looking for:
Must-haves:
- Proactive, driven, and comfortable in a high-activity outbound role
- Confident on the phone, speaking with senior professionals
- Experience in sales, SDR, or a commercial role
- Strong communicator who builds rapport quickly
- Resilient and motivated in a target-driven environment
- B2B, partnerships, or channel experience (especially with accountants or IFAs)
Nice-to-haves:
- Exposure to fintech, pensions, or financial services
- Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, AirCall, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
Why Penfold?
- £40–50k OTE (depending on experience) with uncapped commission
- Meaningful share options — own a part of what you’re building
- 10% employer pension contribution (no matching required)
- Private medical insurance (Vitality)
- Unlimited holiday — we care about output, not counting days
- Hybrid working (London-based, 2+ days in the office)
- Beautiful office opposite Borough Underground
- Weekly company lunch, free snacks & drinks
- MacBook + WFH equipment
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Strong focus on learning, development, and progression
- Quarterly socials and regular team get-togethers
Our culture:
