We’re on a mission to help everyone save enough to be comfortable later in life by making pensions accessible, engaging, and easy to understand. There’s over £1 trillion sitting in UK pensions, but much of the industry is still stuck with outdated products and poor customer experiences. Penfold is changing that with a modern, tech-first platform that puts employers and savers first.

We’re a growing team of ~50 people across London and Tallinn, backed by leading fintech investors. Today, we manage £1bn+ in pension assets for 100,000+ savers and thousands of UK businesses, and we’re growing fast. As we scale, we’re strengthening our sales team and are looking for a driven Account Executive to help us close more employers efficiently and consistently.

The Role

As an Account Executive, you’ll own and close new business opportunities with UK employers. You’ll work closely with a dedicated SDR who generates and qualifies inbound and outbound leads, allowing you to focus on what you do best: running great sales processes and closing deals. This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role suited to a strong closer who enjoys structured sales, building trust with buyers, and converting qualified opportunities into revenue. You’ll primarily sell to HR, Finance, and Operations stakeholders at small to mid-sized businesses.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Closing new business
  • Own a pipeline of qualified opportunities from SDRs, marketing, and inbound demand
  • Run sales cycles end-to-end: discovery, demo, proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Consistently hit or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
  • Close a high volume of smaller deals efficiently while delivering a great buyer experience
  • Running effective sales cycles
  • Lead structured discovery to understand customer needs and decision criteria
  • Deliver tailored product demos focused on employer use cases
  • Clearly articulate Penfold’s value and handle objections confidently
  • Move deals forward with urgency while maintaining trust
  • Working closely with SDRs
  • Partner on smooth handovers and deal progression
  • Share feedback on lead quality, messaging, and objections
  • Help refine qualification criteria to improve conversion
  • Contributing to sales excellence
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting in CRM
  • Share customer insights with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success
  • Continuously improve how we sell through best practices and experimentation

  • A track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong discovery, demo, and objection-handling skills
  • Confidence selling to HR, Finance, Operations, or business owners
  • Comfortable working both qualified leads and full-cycle deals

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling SaaS, FinTech, HR tech, payroll, benefits, or financial services
  • Familiarity with regulated or trust-based products
  • Experience in a scale-up or high-growth environment

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently hit or exceed revenue targets
  • SDR-qualified leads convert efficiently into closed deals
  • Customers have a smooth, positive buying experience
  • Penfold continues to grow as a trusted pension provider for UK employers
