Pendo is a multi‑app platform that helps organizations understand how their software is being used—and act on those insights to drive better outcomes. The Design & Research team at Pendo supports the entire platform ecosystem, working closely with Product and Engineering partners to shape experiences that connect qualitative insight, analytics, and in‑app action. It’s critical that customers experience Pendo as a cohesive, unified platform, not a collection of disconnected tools.
This placement role will be embedded within a product team while maintaining close connection to the wider design and research practice. The student will contribute to real product work, while learning how design decisions are made, tested, and evolved in a modern SaaS environment.
Role Responsibilities- Use Pendo as a customer and an analyst
- Tear down existing experiences to identify opportunities
- Explore and prototype improvements using both traditional design tools and AI‑assisted workflows
- Validate ideas through feedback from design partners and user testing
- Contribute future‑facing concepts that help the team imagine what’s next
- Current university student pursuing a degree in UX Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, or similar related field
- Experience using Figma for layouts and interactive prototypes
- Comfort exploring ideas visually and iteratively
- Willingness to ask questions, seek feedback, and learn
- Exposure to usability testing or user research
- Familiarity with design systems
- Interest in AI tools for design and prototyping
- Awareness of design principles for B2B/B2C Software‑as‑a‑Service (SaaS) products
The expected hourly rate for this role to be performed in Sheffield, UK is £16/hr (40 hours a week). Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
