We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated forward-thinking and experienced individual to work in our busy Commercial Environmental Health Team, who is looking to make a difference. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with significant experience or for someone looking to develop their career within environmental health while contributing to the safety and wellbeing of our community.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a programme of inspections, investigations, and interventions relating to food hygiene, food standards, and/or health & safety.
- Provide professional advice and support to businesses, service users, and internal stakeholders in line with your competencies.
- Secure and improve compliance with relevant legislation through education, enforcement, and partnership working.
- Undertake detailed technical investigations, assess risks, and interpret legislation and statutory codes of practice.
- Produce clear, concise inspection reports and documentation, and deliver presentations where required.
- Effectively manage and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and performance targets.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Will be a confident and capable professional with demonstrable experience of improving compliance with food hygiene and/or health & safety legislation.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to advise and influence a range of audiences clearly and authoritatively.
- The ability to carry out thorough investigations and apply technical knowledge in practical situations.
- Experience producing accurate reports and presenting complex information effectively.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- You must hold a degree or master's in environmental health and hold EHRB registration or be a Registered Environmental Health Practitioner.
- You must also have at least 6 months current or recent food hygiene experience and be able to demonstrate your ability to meet the requirements of an Authorised Officer in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice.
