We are looking for a forward‑thinking and innovative manager to join our Legal & Democratic Services Team as the Democratic Services Manager. You will report to the Head of Legal & Democratic Services and lead the staff in Committee Services, the Mayoralty Service and Caretaking / Printing Service. You will be a key contact for the Council's elected members and coordinate Council meetings, including Full Council, the Executive, Corporate Leadership Team and other committee meetings.
The position requires extensive experience in undertaking complex administrative work and a high level of written and oral communication skills to work successfully with Council's elected members and officers. Attendance at evening meetings is a regular feature for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead staff in Committee Services, the Mayoralty Service, and Caretaking / Printing Service.
- Serve as a key contact for elected members and coordinate Council meetings.
- Ensure effective communication with Council officers and members.
- Attend evening meetings as required.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in complex administrative work.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with elected members and officers.
