Looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) to support an individual with disabilities to live independently. The individual is blind with some hearing loss and wears hearing aids. They are positive, determined, independent, and have a good sense of humor.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support with cooking, meal preparation, and eating meals/drinks
  • Assist with household chores and homemaking
  • Support and prompt to attend appointments (hospital, doctors)
  • Support with food shopping
  • Assist with getting to and from school, work, college, and social activities
  • Support access to sporting and leisure activities
  • Encourage socialization and participation in activities
  • Promote friendships and independence
  • Develop a trusting one-to-one working relationship
  • Assist with managing paperwork and correspondence

The role may vary day-to-day based on individual needs. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably required. The employee must report accidents and hazards immediately and ensure the safety of the individual at all times. The position is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs covered).

Transport Requirements

Must be a car driver and owner with valid business insurance.
