About the Role
PA wanted to assist a girl with non‑verbal autism with daily tasks and participating in activities. Experience with autism preferred. She is a lovely girl with lots of energy although she is sometimes upset and frustrated due to not being able to communicate her needs. With the right understanding and love, her needs are met and she is a happy little girl.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and/or prompt with personal care including toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, and dressing
- Assist with transportation to school, work, college or social activities
- Encourage participation in sporting and leisure activities
- Support socialising and participation in activities and promote friendships and independence
- Develop a trusting one‑to‑one working relationship
- Perform other duties as reasonably required
- Report all accidents and hazards to the employer immediately; ensure safety of the individual at all times
