We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and friendly Personal Assistant to support a busy young mum with 4-year-old twins while her husband is at work. Due to physical disabilities, she requires a supportive pair of hands to help manage daily life, keep the children safe, and maintain a positive, welcoming family environment.
The ideal candidate will be high-energy, reliable, and passionate about building a trusting, long-term relationship with both the mum and her children.
Key Responsibilities
- Child & Family Support: Assisting with the care and safety of the 4-year-old twins, including preparing and serving lunches and/or dinners.
- Household Duties: Helping to keep the family home clean, safe, and organized. Duties include laundry, loading/emptying the dishwasher, cleaning, and emptying bins.
- Community Outings: Accompanying and supporting the mum on trips out to local parks or shops (she uses an electric wheelchair for mobility).
- Healthcare & Wellbeing Support: Providing reassurance and situational support during medical episodes (see details below).
Medical Support Details (Training/Guidance Provided)
The employer manages two long-term health conditions. You do not need professional medical qualifications, but you must be observant, calm under pressure, and capable of providing reassurance:
- Functional Seizures: During these episodes, she remains fully conscious and can vocalize what she needs (such as gentle head support or verbal reassurance).
- POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome): This condition causes fainting or dizziness, particularly when standing up or standing for short periods. Support involves offering immediate reassurance and positioning a cushion to ensure she does not hurt herself if she falls or needs to sit quickly.
