We are currently looking for a Finance Officer to join our Finance Department, to support the Senior Finance Officer in delivering the company’s financial services on a fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be joining a leading not-for-profit organization that provides independent living services to people with disabilities and health care needs nationwide.
Contract: 12 months
Location: Hybrid working, Coventry CV3 3GU
Salary: £23,492 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Days & Times: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
Closing: Friday 18th April 2025

The Role
- Reviewing daily high-volume bank statements and allocating income and expenditure to the relevant accounts
- Liaising with Local Authorities and Penderels Satellite Offices to help identify unknown income and expenditure
- Producing fortnightly reports of the suspense account to distribute to local teams
- Answering queries from both internal and external contacts
- Monthly Reconciliation of the bank account
- Processing payments for sundry purchases
- Supporting Finance Team with the setting up, amending, and cancellation of automated payments when needed
- Dealing with general telephone and email enquiries
- Any other duties that fall within the scope and responsibility of this post
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Experience of working in a finance or accounting environment
- Previous experience of producing statistical reports and assignments
- Ability to input and maintain accurate data records
- Ability to manage workload effectively
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Ability to work flexibly and meet deadlines
- Hold minimum GCSE Grade '4' or equivalent in English and Maths
- A qualification in bookkeeping or accounting would be desirable
