About the Employer
Gentleman with Down's syndrome who can walk but is non‑verbal. He requires support with daily activities including personal care, cooking, house cleaning, and motivation to participate in social activities.
The role follows a 4‑week rota:
- Week 1 – 17.5 hours plus 1 sleep
- Week 2 – 22 hours plus 2 sleeps
- Week 3 – no hours
- Week 4 – same as week 1
Average hours per week: 9.87.
About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and/or prompt with personal care, including toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, and dressing.
- Support and/or prompt with cooking and meal preparation, and eating meals/drinks.
- Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
- Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
- Support and/or prompt to attend appointments, e.g., hospital or doctors.
- Assist and encourage socialisation and participation in activities.
- Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
- Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship.
Candidate Requirements
- Age 18 or over.
- Required to administer medication.
- Shifts may start before or after 10 pm.
- Perform other duties reasonably required, as the individual's needs may vary.
- You have a responsibility to report all accidents to the employer immediately and to report defects or hazards that may lead to an accident.
- You must ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
- Due to the nature of this work, the role is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs covered).
- Transport Requirement: Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

- Thursday, 3 pm to 10 pm plus sleep (week 1) and 8 am to 10 am (week 2)
- Friday, 8 am to 11 am (week 1)
Hourly rate: £12.71 per hour. Plus £78.30 for overnight shift in double time for bank holidays.
