For Summer Term 2026, or as soon as is practicable, we seek to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational numeracy co-ordinator and teacher of Mathematics across the age and ability range. If you are keen to work in a friendly, supportive and highly successful department, we would welcome your application.
The ideal candidate should:
- Be able to teach across the age & ability range in Years 7 – 11
- Have a good understanding of the GCSE examination syllabus requirements (WJEC)
- Hold strong classroom management skills
- Be committed to raising achievement for students of all abilities
- Be able to motivate and engage students
- Be creative, determined, enthusiastic, resilient and passionate about delivering a high quality education to all pupils
- Have a secure understanding of the four purposes and Areas of Learning Experience in the new Curriculum for Wales
In addition, the candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
- Co-ordinate the teaching, learning and assessment of numeracy throughout the school in line with Curriculum for Wales Numeracy Framework.
- Work with the SLT and other stakeholders to develop a curriculum which enables learners to develop competence and capability in numeracy, and where there are opportunities, to extend and apply pupils’ numeracy skills across all Areas of Learning Experience.
- Develop and maintain strategies to raise attainment in numeracy across the school in relation to prior attainment and clearly identified baselines.
