Pen Underwriting is looking to hire a data technician within the Business Operations team. The team manages and oversees data ingestion across the underwriting business, ensuring data is collected, processed, and uploaded into core systems efficiently and accurately. The role includes monitoring data quality, troubleshooting issues with supporting brokers, resolving queries efficiently, delivering reporting to insurer partners and internal stakeholders, working in a fast‑paced environment, balancing priorities, meeting monthly deadlines, and contributing to process improvements.
What You'll Do
- Monitor insurance data quality, troubleshoot issues, and resolve queries with supporting brokers.
- Deliver comprehensive insurance reports to insurer partners and internal stakeholders.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency in insurance data management.
- Collaborate with various Pen teams, including actuarial pricing, Operations, and Finance, on ad‑hoc projects related to data.
About You
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Analytical mindset; ability to quickly understand data validation and behaviour concepts.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data trends and communicate findings to stakeholders and management.
- Comfortable building rapport and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Quick learner in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ownership: ability to take ownership from investigation to resolution.
- Insurance experience is beneficial but not essential.
