Hours: Part-time (approx. 5-10 hours per week)
Rate: £25 per 500-words.
is a local history website dedicated to preserving, exploring and sharing the stories of Tyneside and Northumberland. We\’re looking for a part-time junior writer with a curiosity for the past and a talent for clear, engaging writing.
The Role
You\’ll help research and draft short articles and supporting content for the website using provided sources. AI can be used as a tool to generate ideas, but not used in lieu of authentic copy.
This is an ideal role for someone starting out in writing, history, heritage, journalism, media or a related field.
Requirements
- A strong interest in Tyneside and Northumbrian history and heritage
- Good written English and attention to detail and an aptitude for storytelling
- Comfortable doing basic historical research
- Organised and able to work independently
