An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced tax lawyer to join a leading international law firm as a Tax Knowledge Lawyer within its respected Tax & Rewards group. This role is particularly suited to experienced lawyers (5+ PQE) seeking to transition into their first Knowledge Lawyer position, combining technical excellence with strategic involvement across knowledge, business development, and training. The Tax & Rewards group advises across corporate, finance, real estate, funds, and private client matters, including M&A, investment management, and family business structuring. The Knowledge Lawyer will focus on four key areas, strategy, knowhow, business development, and training, working closely with partners, associates, and business services teams to enhance technical excellence, streamline resources, and strengthen the group’s knowledge infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team’s knowledge strategy and ensure tax and policy developments are effectively shared.
- Develop and maintain knowhow materials, precedents, and guidance notes.
- Provide practical, expert support to fee-earners across all levels.
- Design and deliver training programmes and internal knowledge sessions.
- Collaborate with partners and BD teams on thought leadership and client content.
- Work with the firm’s LawTech and Knowledge teams to improve systems and drive innovation.
About You
You will be a UK-qualified lawyer (5+ PQE) with strong technical tax experience from private practice, currently in a fee-earning tax role and ready to transition into your first Knowledge Lawyer position. You’ll bring excellent drafting, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a proactive approach and a passion for sharing expertise. Experience advising investment management clients would be advantageous, though not essential. Above all, you’ll be ambitious to build a long-term career as a Knowledge Lawyer, combining technical excellence with a genuine enthusiasm for learning, mentoring, and driving innovation.
