An elite US law firm is seeking a Conflicts Lawyer to join its London team. This is a highly visible, advisory role offering direct exposure to Partners and senior stakeholders across an international network, with scope to build specialist expertise in conflicts and professional ethics.

Working within the firm's international Conflicts and New Business function, the Conflicts Lawyer will assess potential conflicts and new business issues, combining legal analysis with commercial judgement. The role requires someone who can identify risk, find pragmatic solutions and communicate clear advice to stakeholders across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyse complex conflicts searches and new client/matter requests.
  • Advise Partners and other stakeholders on conflicts, professional conduct and business acceptance issues.
  • Conduct corporate and regulatory research to identify relevant relationships and potential risks.
  • Recommend practical solutions, including waivers, ethical screens and internal clearances.
  • Draft and review relevant conflicts and engagement documentation.
  • Support conflicts considerations relating to lateral hires.
  • Monitor relevant regulatory developments and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

This opportunity would suit a qualified lawyer with at least 2+ years' PQE, with strong analytical skills, commercial judgement and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.

Previous conflicts, new business intake, AML or law firm risk experience would be advantageous, particularly within a US or international firm, but is not essential. Applications are also welcomed from fee-earners who can demonstrate a genuine interest in transitioning into conflicts and professional ethics.
