Why apply?

  • A genuine pathway from fee-earning into risk and compliance without sacrificing legal quality or complexity

Working within the Legal & Risk function, the Conflicts Lawyer will advise on legal, regulatory and reputational risks associated with new and existing business. The role combines technical legal analysis with commercial judgement, supporting the firm’s ability to take on work safely, compliantly and strategically. It offers meaningful involvement in policy development, stakeholder engagement and broader risk initiatives, alongside day-to-day advisory work.

Key responsibilities

  • Advising on conflicts of interest, confidentiality and information barriers
  • Providing guidance on client engagement terms, outside counsel guidelines and related agreements

  • Contributing to training, awareness initiatives and wider Legal & Risk projects
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the Business Acceptance team

This role would suit a qualified lawyer (c.2+ PQE) from a large or international law firm, either a current conflicts lawyer or a fee-earner with a transactional background and strong understanding of deal structures and commercial documentation. It is an excellent opportunity for those seeking a long-term in-house career in risk, compliance or professional responsibility.

You will be confident advising senior stakeholders, commercially minded, and comfortable managing competing priorities under pressure. Strong communication skills and sound judgement are essential. Prior exposure to conflicts, professional conduct or regulatory matters is helpful but not required.

This is a high-impact, permanent in-house role offering global scope, strategic influence, hybrid working and an attractive salary, within a collaborative and forward-thinking Legal & Risk function.
