Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Used Car Sales Manager to lead our used car sales department.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in automotive sales, team leadership, stock control, and delivering excellent customer service.
You will be responsible for driving used vehicle sales performance, managing inventory, coaching the sales team, and ensuring departmental profitability.

Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the used car department, including sales performance, staff productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Achieve and exceed used car sales targets, profitability goals, and KPIs.
Lead, coach, motivate, and develop a team of sales executives to maximize performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Source and manage used car stock effectively, ensuring optimal vehicle mix and stock turn.
Monitor and manage pricing strategies, valuations, and margin control.
Oversee the presentation and merchandising of the used car forecourt and digital platforms.
Ensure compliance with all FCA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and implement used vehicle promotions and digital campaigns.
Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
Maintain excellent customer relationships and handle escalated queries or complaints as needed.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in a used car sales management role within the motor trade.
Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
Deep understanding of used car market trends, pricing, and vehicle sourcing.
Exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
Familiarity with DMS systems (e. g., Kerridge/CDK, Pinewood, Dealerweb, etc.).
Strong organisational and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Customer-focused with a drive to deliver outstanding service.
Full UK driving licence required.
Desirable:
Experience in managing digital lead handling and online sales platforms.
