Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Technician / Workshop Controller to take responsibility for the maintenance, repair, compliance, and operational readiness of a fleet of approximately 70 vehicles. This is a hands-on leadership role combining advanced diagnostic expertise with workshop management responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee all workshop activities, ensure maximum vehicle availability, maintain compliance standards, and lead the day-to-day operation of the fleet maintenance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the workshop and fleet maintenance programme.
  • Plan, schedule, and prioritise all servicing, repairs, inspections, and MOT preparation.
  • Allocate work effectively to technicians and monitor progress.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer standards.
  • Minimise vehicle downtime and maximise fleet availability.

Master Technician Duties

  • Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic faults.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to workshop staff.
  • Conduct final quality-control inspections on completed work.
  • Stay current with vehicle technology and industry trends.
