An established automotive retailer is seeking an ambitious and driven Sales Controller to support the management of a high-performing vehicle sales department. Working closely with the Sales Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales performance, supporting and developing the sales team, maximising finance and insurance opportunities, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process. This opportunity would suit an experienced Senior Sales Executive looking to take the next step, or an existing Sales Controller seeking a fresh challenge within a professional and customer-focused dealership environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the day-to-day management of the vehicle sales department.
- Assist in motivating, coaching and developing the sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
- Drive new and used vehicle sales performance.
- Maximise finance, insurance and value-added product penetration.
- Ensure all sales processes and compliance standards are followed.
- Monitor sales activity, conversion rates and departmental KPIs.
- Assist with stock management and vehicle pricing strategies.
- Conduct deal reviews and support sales negotiations where required.
- Maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Work closely with the Sales Manager to deliver departmental objectives and profitability targets.
- Ensure accurate completion of sales documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members where required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Previous experience within a franchised automotive dealership environment.
- Proven success as a Senior Sales Executive, Business Manager or Sales Controller.
- Strong understanding of vehicle finance and insurance products.
- Demonstrable ability to consistently achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
- Strong organisational and communication abilities.
- Customer-focused with a professional approach.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
