The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Aftersales Manager to join a busy and successful automotive dealership in Basildon. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving performance across the Service and Parts departments, improving customer satisfaction, and maximising aftersales profitability. You will lead a team of Service Advisors, Technicians, and Parts staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the aftersales operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the aftersales team.
  • Oversee the daily operation of Service and Parts departments.
  • Drive workshop efficiency, utilisation, and labour sales.
  • Maximise aftersales revenue and departmental profitability.
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction (CSI) scores.
  • Manage departmental KPIs and implement performance improvement plans.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and dealership processes.
  • Control costs and manage departmental budgets effectively.
  • Work closely with senior management to achieve business objectives.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience as an Aftersales Manager, Service Manager, or Senior Service Leader.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving aftersales targets and KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Main dealer or franchise dealership experience.
  • Manufacturer standards and audit experience.
  • Familiarity with dealer management systems (DMS).
