VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire

Salary: Β£35,000 - Β£60,000 OTE + Competitive Basic + Bonus + Benefits

OVERVIEW

An established automotive retailer is seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team in Basingstoke.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Technician to work within a modern, well-equipped dealership environment, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repair work and vehicle inspections to manufacturer standards.

The role offers strong earning potential through a performance-related bonus structure, with opportunities for ongoing training and progression.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

β€’ Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair work on a wide range of vehicles.

β€’ Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.

β€’ Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional repair requirements.

β€’ Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely and to manufacturer standards.

β€’ Accurately record work completed and parts used on dealership systems.

β€’ Liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers regarding repair progress.

β€’ Maintain a high level of productivity and quality of workmanship.

β€’ Ensure warranty procedures and compliance guidelines are followed.

β€’ Support workshop efficiency by working collaboratively with colleagues.

β€’ Keep up to date with technical training and manufacturer developments.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

β€’ Qualified Vehicle Technician (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).

β€’ Experience working within a franchised dealership or high-quality independent workshop.

β€’ Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.

β€’ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.

β€’ Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.

β€’ Full UK Driving Licence.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

β€’ MOT Tester qualification (advantageous).

β€’ Manufacturer brand training or accreditation.

β€’ Experience with diagnostics and complex fault finding.

β€’ Hybrid or EV training (desirable but not essential).
