Introduction

A Direct Payments recipient in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal assistant for 7 hours per week for companionship and to take out to places of interest. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently. The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive and be able to work flexibly to meet the care needs of the client.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a reliable and trusting relationship with the person.
  • Support the person to manage household tasks and keep on top of healthy eating and laundry, maintaining a habitable home.
  • To provide companionship in and outside of her home
  • Support the person to access activities of importance.
  • Communicate with the person’s family and wider support network.
  • Provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction.
  • Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours.
  • Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to the relevant authority.
  • Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance.

Other Requirements

A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is required.
You must have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
