Salary: £29.00

The Social Worker in the Child Care Management Team will carry out social work tasks related to assessments, care planning, and the development of support packages to promote the welfare of children.

Principal duties include:

  1. Undertake initial and core assessments in compliance with the Assessment Framework.
  2. Develop care plans and support packages.
  3. Undertake statutory duties for children in care.
  4. Manage duties related to children on a Care and Support Protection Plan.
  5. Manage duties for other children on Care and Support Plans.
  6. Conduct care proceedings.
  7. Perform any other required tasks.
  8. Work within Wales Safeguarding Procedures and Pembrokeshire Child Care Procedures.
  9. Post-qualification, undertake training to become a practice assessor and/or facilitator for social work students.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • Social work qualification and registration with the Care Council for Wales.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and listen effectively.
  • Commitment to anti-oppressive practices and equal opportunities.
  • Experience in child care and related fields.
  • Knowledge of relevant Children Acts, guidance, and assessment frameworks.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Ability to utilize supervision positively.
  • Accurate record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and promote multi-agency working.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Qualified practice assessor or willingness to undertake training.
