At this critical time, we are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Head of Children\’s Social Care to lead our children\’s services through a period of innovation, investment and change.

You will play a vital role in shaping and delivering a service that places prevention and early intervention at its heart. Collaborating cross-organisationally and with external partners will be essential here, including regional health and safeguarding board colleagues, care providers, academic partners, voluntary sector organisations and community groups. Our vision as a Council is working together, improving lives and so our integrated services are well-established. You will be a key part of a system that understands the clear importance of working alongside children and families to help them be safe, secure, thriving and happy.

This is a high-profile role, with a strong level of support across the organisation. We are therefore looking for a leader who is values-driven, relational in their approach, and committed to doing things differently. You will need to be agile, outward-looking, and confident in navigating complexity and risk, whilst bringing a deep understanding of the drivers of demand in children\’s services, and a talent for aligning innovative thinking with practical resource management.
