Education Capital Projects and Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme Coordinator
This is a full time open-ended position required for 37 hours per week, subject to the ongoing commitment of the Council to the Sustainable Communities for Learning school capital development programme (a 9 year rolling programme).
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development and delivery of the Councils schools capital programme. You will act as the hub between the Education Directorate (the client) and other teams, notably Construction and other Technical Services. You will be the first point of contact in relation to the Programme and other education-related capital projects with Welsh Government, and will provide oversight of such projects on behalf of the Director of Education which will include ensuring that project briefs and completed projects comply with all relevant educational legislation/requirements and grant funding conditions.
You will be involved both in steps to acquire capital funding from Welsh Government, by working with a multidisciplinary team to draft business cases, and will be heavily involved in project delivery itself.
A project management background is essential for this post, as is demonstrable experience of the practical application of asset management within the education sector; this includes a comprehensive understanding of school premises management processes/policies and principles.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be required to maintain professional relationships with a wide variety of people, including elected members, chief officers, headteachers, various educational and technical professionals, and the public.
